A birth doula is someone who is extremely passionate about birth and works with expectant families to help them have their best birth experience. This is done through informational, emotional and physical support which is given prenatally, during labour & birth, and in the postpartum period. Women have been supported by doulas for centuries, and studies have show that women who are supported by birth doulas tend to be all around happier with their birth outcomes. Studies have shown that some of the benefits of a birth doula include a increased sense of empowerment, lower use of pain medication during labour, decreased chances of a caesarean section and increased breastfeeding rates. It is great to have someone in your corner who has witnessed the beauty of birth and who will support your decisions without judgement. Whether you want to birth in the woods or the hospital, have an epidural or no medication, have a partner or are doing it on your own, a doula is right for you! |

Additional Services
Additional Prenatal Visits
$20/hour
- Typically 2 prenatal visits are enough, however if you feel like you need more time to get to know your doula or if you have tons of questions and/or concerns additional prenatal visits can be made. We want you to feel as comfortable and prepared as possible for your big day!
Private Prenatal Crash Course
$50
- This crash course will be provided to you in the comfort of your own home and will cover all of the most important need to knows before you birth your baby!
WHAT IS A POSTPARTUM DOULA?

After the birth of your baby, you and your family will be caught up in an endless cycle of eating, sleeping, pooping and bonding. This means that simple things such as cooking and cleaning can fall to the wayside. It can also mean that you have been attached to your baby 24/7 and need a few minutes rest alone. During our postpartum visits we are there to help with what YOU need. Sometimes this means housework, sometimes it means watching the baby so you can shower, and other times it is a listening ear to vent your concerns and frustrations. Your journey into parenthood is one of the most important journeys of your life. Those first few months after your baby's birth are so precious, and they last for such a short period of time. A postpartum doula is there to offer you support, reassurance and knowledge so that your family recieves exactly what they need during this life changing time. FEE: $20/HOUR |
